`Tagged by Lynn Haha, got tagged by Valynne (Lynn). A really super sweer and nice, friendly and helpful senior of mine. ^^. Wish you all the best in your upcoming exam and enjoy your family trip! :) Rules: 1. Once you've been tagged, you have to write a note with 20 random things, shortcomings, facts, habits or goals about you. 2. At the end choose 20 people to be tagged, listing their names and why you chose them. Case #1 : FACTS! (1) Name : Charmaine Ch'ng. Yes, weird surname. I'm a pure Hokkien Chinese. Although I understand the Hokkien dialect, I never know how to pronounce all their words right. (2) Birthday : June 2nd! My best birthday memory was when my foster family in Japan celebrated it for and with me and my other foster housemate! It was so sweet and thoughtful of them. (3) I LOVE SUSHI and SWEET STUFF (like cotton candy, cakes, pastries but it depends, not too sweet)! I cannot resist SUSHI unless I'm super-duper full. And I don't really like Western food or food that contains plate-ful of sauces and gravy - like chicken chop, spaghetti, lagsania, rojak, yee mian, hakka noodles or the black hokkien noodles. (I have no idea how am I going to survive in Russia) (4) I love learning new languages, that is if provided there's people around me who are interested and are willing to learn together with me. I know Chinese, Malay and English (the usuals) and some Chinese Dialects, and also a little bit of Japanese and Korean. I'm gonna learn Russian Language soon!!! (5) I HAVE A THING for CUTE stuff. If I were to go shopping alone, or with my sister or with someone who doesn't mind my craziness (like Sanny and Amelia ^^ thanks girls), I'd go into EACH AND EVERY SINGLE ONE of the shops that sells cute stuff like plush toys, keychains and those random, cute, decorative stuff. Yup, that's Charmaine! (6) I'm allergic to orange. Yes, laugh all you want. I'm still allergic to orange. Be it the fruit, the colour, the paint, or anything orange like orange MnMs, even crabshell! Rashes would come out when I come in contact with the colour orange unless it's dried up orange colour, like a Dry Orange Shirt, or Orange Colored Paper. (7) I just found out I have mild Eczema since I was young that results to why I have those goosebumps-like stuff on my arm. At least my face and legs are still a beauty. Thank God. (8) I love colours. But mainly shades of blue. I love glassy, transparent like colours like glassy-blue colour, glassy-pink and glassy-lavender colours. (9) I am very much into music, but yet music is not my life. ^^. I play the violin, guitar and piano and love singing, song-writing and dancing (although I dance worse than a baby hippo trying to do ballet i think). Case #2 : HABITS! (10) As much as I can't stand myself, my mouth somehow always finds it's way to my fingernails. I bite my nails when I'm nervous, excited or in front of the laptop watching movies, dramas and even music videos. But I don't bite my nails OFF, lol. (11) I'm super hygienic (although I love pets!), and I can't stand dirtiness. No Cockroaches, No Insects or anything with super long tail or more than 4 legs! And because of that, I do a mini-spring cleaning in my room all the time. Lol, so don't mind me when I start to pack stuff, clean up a little and nag about cleanliness. I do that all the time when I was younger, clean all the mess up wherever I go be it at home or at other places. (12) Although I'm super hygienic, I have this bad habit of collecting a pile of dirty tissues before discarding them into the trash. Since I have sinus problem, I use LOADS of tissue, say a box within two days or three days? And I am very lazy to throw them away right after I use them so I'll throw it only after I finish doing something. Like, after finish studying only get up and throw the tissues I used while studying. Mom gets annoyed by that. >.<" (13) I have a habit of licking my lips, way much more after I came back from America. Perhaps because after the America Trip my lips are always dry and crack-ish. But this habit is not serious...yet. (14) I am very, very into singing, so much that I always imagine myself as a singer and start singing in front of the laptop while having the music on so loud or even singing in the shower or in the toilet. Dad even joked once that he could hear my voice from the guard house, and allow me to remind you readers, I live in a Condominium and my house is on the 9th floor. (oops?) (15) I type LOL A LOT! Yes, I have got to admit it that I type that word a lot. Be it a funny or not funny situation I type it almost all the time. I'm guessing Joo, San and Amyl are getting tired of LOLs that they ask me to say other things other than that. Lol. (16) I smile a lot...I think >.<" And laugh a lot too... I think. >.<" (Is that a habit? Since sometimes I do laugh and smile for nothing...) (17) To boost up my self-confidence (since many says i have superbly low self-confidence) and to brighten up my day everyday, I will look into the mirror in my bathroom and call myself pretty girl and point out one thing that's pretty about me. And I would smile to myself to make me smile the whole day. When given notes, books or anything, I would always write my name with a smiley face after that. I draw smileys a lot too, the original reason was so that no matter what happens I would always look outside the box and see things in the brighter point of view and keep my smile on if possible, all the time. Habit since I was in form 4. (18) I snore. Yes, and I'm seeing a doctor because of that. Okay, because it's some sinus problem. I'm really worried for my future roommate. Sigh. Case #3 : GOALS! (19) I am wishing for 4 flat for my CGPA. But having to have a really kind and helpful and wise cousin brother who is also studying medicine (but for animals, which he claims is tougher since he would have to study for so much more kind of species), he say it's possible but don't stress yourself as stress is the last thing one has got to have to study medicine. Yup, so I'm just aiming for a 4 flat and if I don't get it but get something close to it it'd be good. So now my minimum limit is 3. :) (20) GET SLIM! SLIM! SLIM! SLIM! SLIM! And yes, healthy. Case #4 : TAGS! Okay I don't want to trouble too many people so I'll list out only a few which I would really want to know their results to this tag ^^. 1. CASSY, Ting San - Because she's one of my best friends (i have a few but she's one of the closer ones) and I would want to know how she is right now ^^. 2. JOO, Jewel - Sorry dear for all the LOLs, but you still have got to do this tag for me please? Hehe. :) 3. NAT NAT, Natalie Yap - Hehe, perhaps something to do during free time so that you can get your brains off the books once in a while? And really I want to know the present, wonderful leader of CF! ^^. Really want to know this leader (or senior) of mine more. :) Don't be lazy ya! Hehe. 4. JEFF, Yee Lai - Dear Fire Girl, your blog has been dead for quite a long while. Yes I know it's because of NS. `Such A Blessing! I've prayed hard for an MP3 recorder!!! Actually not THAT hard, just one simple prayer. And I got my MP3 Recorder already!!!!! I so Happyy!!!!!!!!  It such a blessing! Thank God for the blessings. :) Now Charmaine can finally record and playback her lecturers lectures in classes and not afraid to miss out any important stuff. `Sanny's Birthday Date : 18th January 2009 Number of Announcement to be made : One Announcement : Happy Birthday San-San Went to 1u yesterday at 1 pm. Was suppose to be there by 12pm but thanks to everyone who woke up late, and thanks to Dad using the wrong road which he thought would be the fastest road to 1u, I ended up 1 hour late. But it's nice to see how Dad would thought of using different roads just to get me to 1u the earliest time possible. Thanks Daddy! And sorry San. She was soooo super hungry waiting for me for an hour. I'll make it up to you, you can be 1 or 2 hours late during my birthday! xD After meeting up outside of Poh Kong, the jewellry store nearby the KFC and Mcdonalds store in the Old Wing of 1u, San who was superbly hungry decided to go grab lunch in KFC. Too bad Joo ain't there, it was really fun. During lunch in KFC, San, whom supposedly wanted to order Zinger burger got a Zinger Tower instead (the chickhen hamburger with a piece of hash brown which Ting San claims it super fattening because of the extra piece of carb) and with the Zinger Tower set came a free KFC Watch. Lol. San chose the pink one out of the other 3 colours and even planned to tell her younger brother that she got it for free because it was her birthday. Lol. Nyways, here are a few pictures taken. Didn't camwhore much as the time we had were quite limited since I was late.  San showing off her Zinger Tower Set minus the free watch. Me... Her... And her again... :D and still not enough of Zinger tower (lol) (and psst Joo -- You know ah, San ah, keep BOASTING she 18 years old already, legal age. Can go buy 18 sx show for us to watch u know!!!) Lol, just joking. She wasn't boasting, but she did say she could bought 18sx or sg show. But since I was still underage, legally, we went to watch Bedtime Story instead. (Typical Char kan? LOL) Nice show, fun and the movie was one of the few movies where the story is unpredictable. As in, you won't know what's going to happen next, ain't like all those other cliche, but still nice, movies. Loads of twist and turns, unexpected stuff = good, comedy, family movie. After movie and lunch, we went around doing nothing, or maybe, shopping for other people's birthday present. Lol, yes, San and Char shopping for other friend's birthday present when celebrating San's birthday. :D Laugh all you want, Joo. xD We also went to all the cute cute shops that sell those cute cute stuff like Teddy Tales, Hinode (not soooo cute), Mini Toons (my fave) and Action City... etc etc. We even met Liki, Hui Ning, Edmund and their gang celebrating Edmund's farewell to Australia (i think) within weeks (or a week) there while shopping around. By 5:30 pm, I left San all alone in the mall to wait for her dad, cause my mom wanted to go Mid Valley to get some stuff. But it was a memorable and fun time. It'd be better if Joo would be there but I'm sure I won't forget all about these two lovely friends of mine! ^^. Be honored and touched Joo and San, be very honored and touched. Lol. Yes, ignore me. `Surprise Surprise Friday, 9th of January 2009. Chemistry class : 8:30 am to 12:50 pm. (no breaks, half day only) well, SUPPOSEDLY it is half day class for this Friday only, and was planning to go back visit CHS since it feels as if quite long never go back school, and miss CF and of course planning to yum cha with San. Thank God I didn't promise to make it there and decided not to go, why? This is what has happened : 12:30 pm - Mr Thava physics teacher, aka discipline teacher , came into the class and made an announcement which went something like this: ' Students, please stay back after class later. There'll be an extra class after your chemistry class at 1:45 pm. This is because many of you have came to ask me about the physics lesson we had on Wednesday. (first lesson of the year after orientation). So there'll be a discussion class later from 1:45 pm to 5 pm. Please be punctual, go get a quick lunch and come back up here. I'll be here to check and make sure everyone is here. ' Nice announcement eh? So sweet to the ears....right >.<" And thanks to so many of us not getting what Chemistry teacher is teaching previously, so we had discussion up till 1pm then only was allowed to leave for lunch. 45 minutes for lunch ain't a big problem, but with so many offices around and since it's a shopping complex, having 45 minutes is a real big problem, adding to that is we've got to be in class by 1:45 sharp. Sigh. After queing around half an hour just to get MC D!!! Goodness, yes fast food for half an hour queue???! Nvm that, me and my friend ate like wolves and rushed our ways up to our class. In the lift, we came across this bunch of indian-malay guys, whom I thought were gangsters cause one of them were even sitting on the floor. I mean, like who sits on the floor in the lift nowadays?! o.o" So they were looking at me and my friend and we were wondering whether we should go into that lift or wait for another lift. And fyi, to wait for lift to my college floor will cost us 5 minutes and sometimes can go up to 10 minutes. So we just hopped in anyway after one of the guy inside was like, come in lah!!!! *with all smiles* And then here was what happened , Indian fella 1 (sitting on the floor) : You two from Lincoln ah? Me : Erm (nods) yes? Malay fella 2 (standing :D) : How, Lincoln nice ah? Me: Erm......... Indian fella 1 interrupted: Stupid ah? Me: Yes. (I meant to say nice to the Malay's guys question but the indian fella interrupted just in time. So they thought I said yes to Lincoln being stupid. -.-") Malay fella 2 : HAH?! STUPID AH? Me : Erm...NoNO! Nice, nice. Indian fella 3 : Oh okok..... .... We reached the floor, and the guys stepped out...and then only we knew. Oops, they were our seniors >.<" MALU NYERRR. But nevermind. Cause me and my friend was so scared we like practically RAN out of the lift and left the gang of guys laughing their ass off behind in the lift. So we went to our class and heard noises. And guess what?! The tables are cleared up, the room was empty but filled with people la of course. And our bags were placed all the way to the back. On the whiteboard in front wrote : ORIENTATION FOR J1. And the group of guys we met in the lift were smiling at us...as though saying : you were FOOLED!!!!!! EESH. And to think we actually had class that's why we stayed back, rushed through lunch summore. -.-" Aiks. Geram la, but it was so sweet and nice of the seniors to stay back and prepare so many things just for us juniors and just to get to know us better. Nice peeps. But I still geram, how can they suddenly call us to stay back?! LOL. I missed my SLEEP! Jk Jk. Then after that we had this introduction thing. And then splitted up into groups and played some group games. :D My group - Cobra won most of the games MWAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks to me being in there, just joking. Then they even played this game call toothpick game. My goodness I admit I almost puke there and then. Why? Cause everyone in the group will have to pass one small toothpick using their lips!!! And they made us sit boy-girl-boy-girl...Aiks. That means all of us will have to like, experience 5 mircometer distance away from the person sitting beside of you...Yucks. Disgusting. I almost lost my lipginity (lips + virginity). Then the senior summore watch us play and was like telling the guy next to me to like, DON"T KISS AH DON'T KISS AH! Noisy betul, but they made it more exciting la. >.<" Sigh, thank God my lipginity still with me. Oh well, the party went on from 1:45 pm up till 6 pm. And yes many was already complaining but I also bet all of them had their part of fun. I mean, of course la we'll still get geram but it's really thankful and grateful to have such wonderful bunch of seniors and summore willing to help u with anything including ur studies. By the end of the day the head of the seniors also pointed out who were the seniors whom are good at whichever subject so we can refer to them when we have questions about the subject. :) It's really wonderful to have such great seniors. But still geram okay. Haha. Plus point : All the videos, pictures of the party will be posted up on Youtube. PLease don't go youtube for the moment. WAKAKA. `A New Journey, A New Walk As some of you guys might still not know, I have already started my pre-medical a.k.a foundation in science courses in KL's Lincoln College Asia Pacific. Orientation lasted for two days, yesterday (6th Jan) and today (7th Jan), and trust me, college life = tough, or just to me. Picture this: First day of college, only ORIENTATION, and the lecturers come in to give us EXAMS! It's some sort of SPM-level mix college-level evaluation exams so the professors would know which level each and every one of his students stands at. And adding up to that, one of the nice admin guy (he's really a nice guy, in fact everyone there is super nice and friendly) gave a 'short speech' about how medical students are different from all other students and that birth out the reason why medical students always have their own personal campus comparing to all other courses students. 1. Medical students are expecting to study way before class starts. And does pre-reading and revisions every time. 2. Medical students are expected to study around 8 hours...he didn't say daily...or weekly xP. 3. Medical students will soon have panda eyes and looks like they have escaped from the zoo. All will only have daily sleep of 2 hours estimated. 4. Medical students WANTS to study (not me >.<") 5. Medical students have different mind sets from other students. Oh well... And second day of orientation, the admin lady name Miss D gave us our assignment sheet. 3 assignments and due date : 20th February...and the topics are crazy. Biology: What is the association between human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and cancer? Chemistry: Antiplatelet, anticoagulant nad other antithrombic drugs have been used in the treatment of cardiovascular disease. How can we identify or synthesise these drugs? What is the quantitative structure, property or activity relationship of the drugs to their tehrapeutic function? please briefly tell the interaction if any, between these drugs. Physic :: Describe the mechanical properties of human bones... (what has this gotta do with physics u think...>.<") Sigh...I really need help. Any kind souls can help me get some good research websites or any such? Apart from wikipedia, yahoo search, google search and freemedicaljournal.com? I'm really starting to get tired. Classes starts tomorrow, officially. With Physics first at 1 pm...such a nice time to travel ain't it? And I finally learnt how to ride the LRT to college and back to home and trust me, 30 minutes ride in LRT is B.O.R.I.N.G. But thank God to kind souls like my godma and my aunt who are willing to go to the lrt station just to fetch me home. Good people, God bless them xP Charmaine Chng! Aja! Aja! Fighting!
